Minerva 19 movement, heavy nickel-plated case, case diameter 57 mm, unrestored enamel dial with black and red Arabic numerals, 30-minute seconds and minute hands.
Manufacturer "Hermann Bark Kiel", case back with German eagle above "M 9668 G".
A three-part case construction with an inner cover for the movement.
Fully functional and in good condition!
Complete with its original wooden protective case with screw-down lid.
Wooden case dimensions 10 x 8 x 3 cm.

Seawater, damp, often cold hands, and a slippery case—the timepiece would easily slip out of your hands; therefore, the stopwatch was supplied in a protective wooden case with a screw-down lid, which shielded
the sensitive instrument from the harsh conditions at sea.
The historical context of this torpedo deck watch is closely linked to the Battle of the Atlantic, which began in 1939 and ended with the surrender of Germany in 1945.
The large Kriegsmarine torpedo deck watch is one of the most important precision instruments used by the German Navy during World War II.
These chronometers were indispensable on submarines and were primarily used to measure the running time
of torpedoes.
This specific example was made by Hermann Bark from Kiel, one of the most important suppliers of chronometers, deck watches, and special watches to the German Navy during World War II.
The movement originates from the Swiss manufacturer Minerva (Robert Frères), which began producing chronographs and deck watches in 1908 and introduced its first chronograph caliber, the Caliber 19-9.
The deck watch bears the distinctive Kriegsmarine mark on the back: a national eagle holding a swastika within a wreath, above the letter M, which stands for Marine, along with the serial number M 9668 G.

Condition:
A well-preserved but certainly very rare instrument, this is one of the few remaining deck watches in its still original wooden case !!
The case has a stamped matching number with the instrument on the front: 9668.
Enamel in beautiful condition, no cracks, glass is intact, no chips.
No restorations or tampering, an honest piece of history in good working condition.
