An German Kriegsmarine Bosun's whistle with National Aegle /acceptance stamp on the shaft.
The whistle is in good working condition, not polished, light patina.
Complete with artfully braided and knotted lanyard approx. 80 cm long.
The boatswain's whistle itself is traditionally made of metal, often silver-plated or chrome-plated brass, and consists of three main components: the buoy (mouthpiece), the ball, and the barrel (or shaft).
Different signal tones can be produced through various blowing and fingering techniques, each with specific commands or announcements.
The Bosun's whistle is worn on a cord or chain placed around the neck or over the shoulder.
