VENETIAN HOURGLASS IN PAPER MACHE EARLY 18TH CENTURY

A nice early large size hourglass with a running time of a full hour.
Time can be read every quarter, there are four ampoules with a running time of 15 minutes per ampoule.
Interior of finely ground eggshell, the knot joint is made from rope and wax.
The frame of paper Mache is covered with marbled paper.
Height 20 cm, 8 inches.
