A late 17th century Italian refraction telescope made of green parchment,
beautifully and elegantly decorated with gilded motives from ca. 1680.
The outer tube of green shagreen has a turned eyepiece and object of ebony wood.
The lenses are set in a separate tube, everything is from parchment, all rings and joints are of ebony wood.
On the tube area a stop line has been applied to indicate optimal working length.
A very delicate and colorful telescope.
