CARL ZEISS COMMANDER GLASS 8 X 60 TALL BOY
A pair Zeiss Kriegsmarine 8x60 Binoculars, known amongst collectors, as “The Tall Ones”.
This is an early model from a small series of 200 pieces made in January 1941.
The leather Benutzer cap is extremely rare, is completely correct, and comes from the same time
period, double stitched leather with manually applied instruction badges.
Later the Benutzer cap was replaced by Bakelite with the same inscription.
Serial number is between the objective lenses 2118231.
The black Rauhlack exterior finish is completely intact!
These marine binoculars are equipped with dehumidification cartridges.
These binoculars are also provided with the well-known blue Zeiss lens coating.
A number of versions of this type are known, sometimes with small differences between them.
The binoculars are complete serviced and recollimated, the optics are clean and clear as they
left the factory in 1941.
The binoculars are near mint condition, can be used very well on a daily basis, no damage to the
optics or coating.
Beautiful complete set, just fully served with the removable soft rubber eye cups.
