17TH CENTURY HOURGLASS IN OAK WOOD SETTING

An early 17th century hourglass dating from ca 1640.  
Big hourglass in a setting of dark oak wood with five manually carved pillars.  
The bulbs from clear dark green glass are connected through a knot join of wax and thin thread.  
The interior consists of orange-colored finely ground marble.  
The instrument has some irregularities and authentic 17th century features in the glass.  
The hourglass mainly is very pure, totally original and is in an unrestored state.  
Running time ca one hour.  
Height 20 cm. (8 inches)  
Origin unknown.
